Yes, there was some good things on defense. And, yes, there was plenty of bad on offense. But in the end, Alabama went head-to-head against itself, which led to what its coach saw as more than a few "mismatches you can’t really overcome."
"I don't think any conclusions can be drawn about anything that happened today," he said.
Drawing any type of conclusions in April is a bit foolhardy. It’s just too early for anything definitive. But Saturday marked the first public look at the defending champions, and that’s worth something.
