The sudden resignation of South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier left college football in a momentary standstill Monday night.
As the sport mourns its loss of the Head Ball Coach it must also try and move on, just like South Carolina itself. The sputtering Gamecocks (2-4, 0-4 SEC) must pick themselves up and play a game on Saturday and beyond, while athletic director Ray Tanner and his administrative crew must find someone to lead this program again.
But how attractive is this job?
Obviously, this program is in far better shape now than it was when Spurrier took over before the 2005 season, but this isn't an elite SEC job.
