After one of the most tumultuous weeks in Mark Richt’s tenure as Georgia’s coach, the Bulldogs desperately needed to stop the bleeding. Enter Kentucky, which is in the middle of a tailspin of its own.
Richt’s struggling offense got off to a slow start, but the Bulldogs still managed to end its touchdown-less streak after two straight games where they failed to reach the end zone. Embattled defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt’s unit also did its job, helping Georgia (6-3, 4-3 SEC) claim a 27-3 win over the Wildcats and reach bowl eligibility.
Kentucky (4-5, 2-5) has lost four in a row and needs two wins in its final three games (at Vanderbilt and at home against Charlotte and Louisville) to reach the postseason.
