SEC moves on without Spurrier, now a more serious place

It was a jarring experience watching Steve Spurrier on College GameDay on Saturday. For the first time in what felt like an eternity, Spurrier wouldn’t be seen adjusting -- or throwing -- his visor on a football sideline. Instead, he was on TV in a suit and tie, sitting in a chair with his hair swept to the side, picking games.

The SEC changed the moment Spurrier decided to hang it up at South Carolina early last week, ending a career in football that spanned six decades.

Beginning on Thursday night and stretching into late Saturday evening, we got to see what life without the Head Ball Coach would be like.
