Jim McElwain worked alongside Nick Saban and Kirby Smart for four years at Alabama, so he knows better than most how effectively they can dissect an opposing offense.
If McElwain’s Florida offense is to have any success moving the ball against the Crimson Tide’s stout defense in Saturday’s SEC championship game, he knows the Gators will have to get creative.
“Everything we do tendency-wise, we’ve got to do opposite,” McElwain told reporters at his Monday news conference. “Because if we don’t, they’ll be on it. I’ve seen them work. These guys are really good at what they do.
