Missouri ends tumultuous week with win over BYU

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Following a tumultuous week that started with a potential boycott and saw the announcement of coach Gary Pinkel's eventual resignation because of health reasons, Missouri's football found a way to end its four-game losing streak in Arrowhead Stadium.

Thanks to two fourth-quarter touchdowns, Missouri powered by BYU 20-16. In a game that started with three field goals through the first two quarters, the Tigers found the offensive consistency in the second half of a game this program absolutely needed with a bowl berth slipping away during the last month of play.

What this win means for Missouri: In the first game after Pinkel announced that he will resign at the end of the season after being diagnosed with lymphoma in May, the Tigers are back in the bowl picture, improving to 5-5 on the season.
