ATHENS, Georgia – It might have only been a glorified spring scrimmage, but Saturday’s G-Day game at Sanford Stadium showed there’s a new regime in charge at Georgia.
New Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart challenged fans to sell out the stadium, and the Bulldog Nation responded. Georgia set an SEC spring-game attendance record with an announced crowd of 93,000 watching the White team’s 34-14 win over the Red.
“It speaks volumes to where Georgia’s headed and what Georgia can do,” Smart said. “I’ve always said, ‘Why not us?’ I’m just happy to be part of it and be home.
