Gators address biggest needs with early enrollees

Though Florida surpassed expectations in Jim McElwain’s first season and finished ranked No. 25 in the final AP poll, the Gators finished with three straight losses including a 41-7 loss to Michigan in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl.

There were glaring deficiencies across Florida’s roster including quarterback, kicker and a lack of playmakers. While the Gators are continuing to address those needs in recruiting, McElwain and his staff did a tremendous job of filling their biggest needs by adding 12 of their 26 commitments for their spring semester. All 12 recruits, which include five ESPN 300 prospects and two ESPN JC 50 players, have already begun classes and are expected to compete in spring football.
