A former four-star prospect from the 2015 class out of Evans High School in Florida, Blackshear, as mentioned previously, did not originally begin his collegiate career at Florida, but rather in the ACC at Virginia Tech.
Spending four seasons with the Hokies, three of which he played, Blackshear would play a key role at Virginia Tech, starting in 72-of-103 games across that span.
