GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida linebacker Jarrad Davis couldn't quite make up his mind. As seconds dripped off the play clock and his Gators trailed Vanderbilt 7-6 with a little more than two minutes remaining on Saturday, Davis paced back and forth, wondering if he should watch the upcoming field-goal attempt or not.
Nerves ran high throughout Florida's sideline and inside the Swamp because the SEC East Division crown and a possible slot in the College Football Playoff hinged on a 43-yard Austin Hardin field goal. And let's face it, field-goal kicking isn't exactly Florida's strong suit.
