A little over a year ago, Chad Kelly wasn't sure if he'd ever play football again. As he sat in a Buffalo jail cell only days before Christmas, the former Clemson quarterback and future Ole Miss signee saw his football life flash before his eyes after his arrest following an altercation at a downtown Buffalo restaurant.
The image of Kelly was one of a person out of control and without direction. He had been kicked off the Clemson football team for conduct detrimental to the program. Even Hugh Freeze, his new head coach, was hesitant about what the future held for his most important recruit.
