If you were watching Friday’s Cascadia Cup match between the Seattle Sounders and Portland Timbers, you surely noticed the 33-minute long silent protest at the start of the match. The moment both supporters groups broke that silence was even more noticeable.

The power of the protest was hard to discern on TV as the field mics were turned up enough that the lack of singing wasn’t quite as noticeable.
