TORONTO – A kind of giddy anxiousness was palpable on Thursday at Kia Training Ground on the north side of Canada’s most populous city.
The Sounders had their first local training session ahead of Saturday’s MLS Cup final, passing their red-clad hosts in the hall on the way in. They practiced outdoors, some of them donning winter caps and all of the acclimatizing to the Ontario chill.
Two days out from the final between Seattle and Toronto FC, with yet another practice day in between, the players are more than ready to go. The end of the road – one game, winner-take-all on Saturday night at BMO Field — can be spotted clearly on the horizon.
