Washington Open golf will feature field of 136 at Meridian Valley

A field of 136, including about 32 amateurs, is expected to tee it up May 16-May 18 at the 90th Muckleshoot Casino Washington Open, being held at Meridian Valley Country Club in Kent for the fourth consecutive year.

The event, with an expected purse of $80,000 that would mean $7,000 to the winner, is one of the area’s most prestigious golf tournaments. Many state legends have their name on the trophy as past winners, including Fred Couples as an amateur in 1978. Other players who had long careers on the PGA Tour to win include Ken Still (1966) and Don Bies (1980).
