After spending the past two-and-a-half seasons as the primary backup goalkeeper for the Seattle Sounders, Tyler Miller is off to join expansion side LAFC. The 24-year-old Northwestern product was selected with the first pick of the 2017 MLS Expansion Draft on Tuesday, which allows the first-year club to bolster its roster with five current MLS players.
On Tuesday afternoon, Miller posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, thanking the organization, coaches, players and fans for his time as a Sounder.
Miller appeared in three MLS matches for the club, including an impressive shutout in the first leg of the Western Conference Championship.
