With the ‘second season’ underway in MLS the Seattle Sounders enter as defending champions. They hold MLS Cup, for now. Their mission, as they state, is to “Defender Our Cup.” First, they must hold off the Vancouver Whitecaps, a long-time rival with a history stretching back to 1974. This all Cascadia contest is the Western Conference Semifinals. The winner will be three matches from the title. The loser will start their offseason a month earlier than their desires.
This two-leg aggregate goal series features the two winning-est clubs in Cascadia, but one of them has yet to win an MLS Cup.
