When the schedule came out the match between the MLS Cup Champion Portland Timbers and Seattle Sounders was expected to be a battle for a top seed in the West and maybe even the Supporters’ Shield. Instead it is a struggle between the 6th seed and the 9th as both Cascadia teams try to rescue their seasons. Portland is 0-6-6 away from the glass house. Seattle is only 6-5-1 at the CLink.
