A game that was robbed of much of its star power due to the recent spat of international games still turned out to be an entertaining — if scoreless — affair. The Seattle Sounders probably created more and better chances, hitting the woodwork twice, but couldn’t find the back of the net in a 0-0 tie against Atlanta United. The tie did run the Sounders’ home unbeaten run to 13 games.
It was the first time Atlanta has been held scoreless, but they nearly pulled off a miracle win when Kenwyne Jones got open in the box and fired off a shot that looked destined for the back of the net.
