One of the biggest off-the-field, offseason questions now has an answer as the Seattle Sounders formally unveiled their new play-by-play announcers on Wednesday. Matt Johnson will handle the radio duties, while Keith Costigan will be the lead voice on TV, with Kasey Keller remaining as the analyst. Both have limited play-by-play experience but are veteran voices.
Johnson has worked in radio for much of his career, most recently serving as the executive director of the Seattle Seahawks' radio network. Before the Seahawks and Sounders split business operations in 2014, he pulled double-duty in that role. Johnson also hosted the Sounders' pregame, postgame and halftime radio shows from 2010-2014, and had a Sounders-focused radio show on KIRO for some of that time.
