Since the Seattle Sounders joined MLS in 2009, they have held their season-opening game at home. Things are about to change in 2017.
The Sounders will play their first two games of the season on the road before returning to CenturyLink Field on Mar. 19 to take on the New York Red Bulls in what should be a nationally televised game. The reason for opening the first two weeks of the season on the road is due to scheduled infrastructure improvements to CenturyLink Field.
The Sounders will take on the Houston Dynamo at BBVA Compass Stadium on Saturday, Mar.
