Sounders score one of the biggest upsets in MLS history

Just about everywhere you looked, the Seattle Sounders were facing massive odds. Bookmakers had them as anywhere from 5-to-1 to 6-to-1 underdogs and FiveThirtyEight gave Los Angeles FC a massive 81 percent chance of advancing.

In a match featuring only three possible outcomes and in a league as parity driven as MLS, such long odds are almost unheard of. It didn’t matter.

Thanks two goals from Raúl Ruidíaz and another from Nicolas Lodeiro, the Sounders toppled LAFC in what has to be one of the biggest upsets in MLS history, at least by the betting line.
