VANCOUVER, B.C. – Extending their unbeaten streak to a team-record 10 games didn’t seem an easy task for the Sounders when they put their starting lineup out.
Playing the middle of three games in eight days, the Sounders opted to sit regulars Clint Dempsey, Osvaldo Alonso and Roman Torres, with Joevin Jones already AWOL in Trinidad and unavailable for the match. But for the vast majority of this 1-1 draw against their Cascadia rivals, the Vancouver Whitecaps, it was the Sounders that dominated vast swaths of play and appeared headed for victory until an old friend once again burned them.
