Sounders’ primary formation will likely include two forwards

It doesn’t take a tactical genius to look at the Seattle Sounders roster and conclude that playing with two forwards — at least in the short term — makes a lot of sense. In Raúl Ruidíaz, Will Bruin and Fredy Montero the Sounders have three proven goal-scorers, all of whom have averaged at least .50 goals+primary assists per 90 minutes during their MLS careers.

This will mark the first time since 2014 that the Sounders have had three true forwards who can boast that sort of resume. Especially considering the relative lack of experience on the wings, finding a formation that better utilizes the team’s depth at forward only makes sense.
