Five players from the Seattle Sounders first team were away on international duty during the recent break, and while the quality of their performances varied, they all came back healthy. In most of their cases, they even came back reasonably well rested.
Head coach Brian Schmetzer even declared that all of them would "absolutely" be available to play in Saturday’s match against the San Jose Earthquakes.
That includes center back Roman Torres, who made his first competitive appearance in nearly a year when he played the final 45 minutes of the Sounders’ 4-2 loss to the Portland Timbers on Aug.
