Sounders have a very good chance at qualifying for CCL

There’s a pretty good chance the Seattle Sounders could return to Concacaf Champions League in 2020 and they don’t even need to win a trophy to do it. Thanks to their fourth-place finish in the Supporters’ Shield, the Sounders would qualify for the 2020 edition of the continental championship if any one of LAFC (Supporters’ Shield), Atlanta United (U.S. Open Cup) or New York City FC (top of the Eastern Conference) win, since those teams have already qualified. They’d also get in if Toronto FC wins MLS Cup since Canadian teams can only qualify through their domestic cup, which the Montreal Impact won this year.
