Sounders GM Garth Lagerwey prepares for longer off-season after fans sign off on retaining him

Sounders general manager Garth Lagerwey was easily retained by fans in voting results released Tuesday night by the team's Alliance Council at its annual business meeting. Given the team's playoff elimination last week and longer off-season this year, much is already expected of Lagerwey and the Sounders in 2019.

A longer off-season than the Sounders hoped for began Tuesday night with them confirming their general manager will indeed be the one making any player personnel calls this winter.

The news that GM Garth Lagerwey had been retained with a 87.3 percent affirmative fan vote in balloting by season ticket holders wasn’t a surprise.
