SEATTLE, WASH. - Seattle Sounders FC is set to open the 2018 MLS regular season at home on Sunday, March 4 at 2:00 p.m. PT against expansion side Los Angeles FC on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field, Major League Soccer announced today. The Rave Green are also set to face LAFC in its season-opener on Sunday, April 29 at 6:00 p.m. PT in the first-ever match at new Banc of California Stadium. The complete regular season schedule, along with the national television schedules for the United States and Canada, is being announced in January.
MLS is coming off a 2017 season highlighted by the debut of two new clubs (Atlanta United and Minnesota United FC), two new stadiums (Orlando City Stadium and Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta), an influx of talented young players, as well as records set for attendance, broadcast ratings and social media engagement.
