There’s still no indication of how close the Seattle Sounders are to adding new players during the now-open summer transfer window, but head coach Brian Schmetzer did confirm the team’s pursuit of Brazilian attacker Wesley.
“I’d love to have it happen, like, tomorrow,” Schmetzer told KJR on Tuesday. “That would be a big signing for our club. I know there are negotiations going on in the background.”
Schmetzer then joked that he might get some insight into how those negotiations are going from Sounders GM Garth Lagerwey, who was due to make his weekly radio appearance later in the evening.
