Most of the results around the league over the weekend went the way that the Seattle Sounders wanted, up until the final whistle in their own match as they lost to the LA Galaxy. Kinnear’s team pressed high so that their lack of defense didn’t show often, and their strong attacking core spent their energy in Seattle’s defensive third. The 3-0 scoreline was their worst result since the March 18 loss at Dallas.
As the losses that started the season injuries were a factor, but they were not the only factor. Brian Schmetzer attempted to make up for the short rest and key injuries by starting a 4-4-2.
