With both teams deep into their benches it was the Charleston Battery that played to the final whistle, scoring with just moments left in the game. Seattle Sounders opened scoring in the 32nd minute when Joevin Jones served the ball to/near Alvaro Fernandez. Taylor Mueller swung his leg at it to clear, but instead scored against his own side. Flaco and Joevin worked well together both in attack and in defense.
The Battery goal came during a chaotic sequence when the youngest Sounders couldn’t clear the ball.
