The Sounders have been pegged by Forbes Magazine as the most valuable team in Major League Soccer in its fourth-annual league franchise valuations released on Wednesday morning.

The list is compiled by what the magazine describes as “multiples of revenue, as well as projections of future growth for the league,” and Seattle’s value is estimated at $285 million, up $40 from last year’s edition.

Estimates are up throughout the league. The average MLS team is now worth $185 million, an increase of 18 percent from last year, 80 percent from 2013 and a whopping 400 percent from the first version published back in 2008.
