Sounders acquire familiar face in Re-Entry Draft

The Seattle Sounders have reacquired goalkeeper Bryan Meredith in the first stage of Friday’s Re-Entry Draft. Meredith is coming out of three seasons with the San Jose Earthquakes where he did not play any regular-season minutes. Prior to San Jose, Meredith spend two years with the Sounders and played in 10 matches, recording three shutouts. He joins god-like (see THE SAVE) Stefan Frei and backup Tyler Miller. Since Charlie Lyon’s contract was not picked up, Meredith could play for S2 and be the back-up back-up to Frei.

Three other Sounders did not have their options picked up besides Lyon: Michael Farfan, Damion Lowe, and Dylan Remick.
