After his “mutual parting of ways” with the Sounders in July, former head coach Sigi Schmid has laid fairly low as he searches for the next step in his career. It seems he found that next step, even if it’s a short-term one: as an in-studio analyst, first for ESPN’s MLS coverage this weekend, and then for the league’s streaming coverage of the last day of the regular season.
The Seattle Times’ Matt Pentz reports that Schmid will join ESPN’s coverage of this weekend’s doubleheader matches, the first between Toronto FC and Montreal Impact and the second between the Portland Timbers and Colorado Rapids.
