It’s been a long time since Brian Schmetzer beat a KC MLS team. It was 2008, in the US Open Cup, when the Seattle Sounders advanced on penalties (6-5 in 7 rounds) due to Zach Scott. A lot has changed since that “win.” Schmetzer is now the head coach of a MLS side. The Wizards are now Sporting Kansas City. Both teams are in the playoffs, with one being in top form and the other just barely getting to the second season.
