The mighty Seattle Sounders fell back to earth with a THUD in the first half against the Portland Timbers. Coming off a midweek sweat-fest in Houston and missing Clint Dempsey, I assumed Seattle would struggle against the Timbers, but I had no idea how massively awful this team would play. Frankly it was disappointing to see Seattle show so little fight in the first half. In the second half they played better, and at times looked almost ready to make a game of it, but ultimately fell 2-4 to Portland and watched their playoff hopes take a hit.
