COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – The Seattle Sounders will play in the MLS Cup Final for the first time in franchise history next month, and they’ll find out later this week if they will host the historic match on home turf.
The Sounders won the Western Conference Championship with a 3-1 aggregate-goal series win over the Colorado Rapids on Sunday at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, clinching their first-ever berth in the MLS title game. The Sounders won the first leg of the series 2-1 at home on Nov. 22 before Jordan Morris scored the only goal of a 1-0 win for the Sounders in the second leg on a crisp, cold day in Colorado on Sunday.
