Seattle Sounders fall 1-0 to Philadelphia Union as MLS-record winning streak comes to an end

SEATTLE - The Seattle Sounders conceded a goal in second-half stoppage time, sending them to a 1-0 defeat in their fixture against Eastern Conference foe Philadelphia Union at CenturyLink Field on Wednesday night.

The game looked destined for a 0-0 draw but Philadelphia’s Fafa Picault got the dramatic winner after picking off a pass from Sounders goalkeeper Stefan Frei and cashing home the finish at the death, ending the Sounders’ MLS single-season record nine-match winning streak.

The Sounders got off to a fast start, with both Raúl Ruidíaz and Víctor Rodríguez clanging shots off the post in the first 20 minutes of the game.
