Seattle Reign show fighting spirit in 3-2 win over Houston

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: Seattle Reign FC traveled to Houston and returned home with a win, their seventh victory in seven matches against the Dash. But to leave it at that would be a disservice to the 3-2 come-from-behind effort that concluded Seattle’s 2016 season.

While the Reign continued its dominance over the Dash, the squad showed something even more important tonight: a fighting spirit. It came too late for a playoff push, but was a picture perfect way to send off the retiring captain, Keelin Winters.

While Seattle entered the match with one of the best defensive records in the NWSL, giving up just 19 goals in 19 game, the backline looked uncharacteristically out of sorts in the first half.
