Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan has accepted a challenge from Toronto Mayor John Tory over the outcome of this weekend’s MLS Cup soccer match between the Sounders and the Toronto Football Club.
The two teams faced off in last year’s MLS Cup, where the the Sounders won with a penalty shoot-out. But the Seattle team lost to Toronto in a May rematch.
In a Twitter exchange, Tory agreed that if his football club lost he would send a gift basket to Durkan containing Tim Horton’s coffee, a St. Lawrence peameal bacon sandwich and maple syrup.
