Although Roman Torres was a late scratch from Sunday’s starting lineup due to a hamstring injury, the assumption was that it wasn’t particularly serious. On Wednesday morning, Seattle Sounders head coach Brian Schmetzer gave an update on the situation, leaving rave green fans and the entire nation of Panama in pins and needles.
“It’s not good. It’s not good,” Schmetzer said ominously. “It’s a hamstring injury and it’s not good. That’s all I’ll say on it now. But that was a blow.”
Taking into consideration the club’s bad luck with injuries to key players, it was only natural most people were expecting the worst outcome to be announced at any moment.
