Osvaldo Alonso suffers slight knee injury in Seattle Sounders' historic win

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — The Seattle Sounders’ first-ever ticket to the MLS Cup Final came with a bit of a price on Sunday, as midfielder and captain Osvaldo Alonso is questionable for the title game in two weeks with a knee injury.

Alonso suffered what head coach Brian Schmetzer called a slight knee sprain in the second half and had to leave the Sounders’ 1-0 win over the Colorado Rapids in the 74th minute.

Alonso appeared in 32 games this season for the Sounders (all starts) and had logged 349 of 360 minutes of the team’s run through the MLS Cup Playoffs before suffering the injury on Sunday.
