Nicolas Lodeiro’s goal in stoppage time secures draw for Sounders

HOUSTON — The Seattle Sounders couldn’t solve Houston’s swampy humidity or the Dynamo’s surging defense, settling for a 1-1 tie Wednesday that snapped a three-game winning streak.

Substitute forward Andrew Wenger gave the Dynamo (5-10-10) the lead with a goal in the 75th minute after a series of deflections.

The Sounders (9-12-4) salvaged the draw on Nicolas Lodeiro’s goal in the 94th minute.

The stoppage-time goal also extended the Sounders’ unbeaten streak to five games, keeping them in the hunt for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Veterans Clint Dempsey and Chad Marshall didn’t make the trip to Houston.
