Since the Seattle Sounders returned to training at Starfire earlier this week, there’s been a conspicuous absence: Nicolas Lodeiro. On Tuesday, head coach Brian Schmetzer offered an explanation.
“He’s been getting some treatment for some tendinitis issues back in Uruguay and he will
join us in Mexico,” Schmetzer told reporters. “It’s been a lingering issue. He had it toward the end of last year and he has always tried to pull out all the stops as far as getting prepared for the season. Nico wants to make sure he’s 100 percent for the start of the season.
