Nicolas Lodeiro expected to play Sunday at Portland, plus other Sounders notes

Lodeiro, Chad Marshall and Roman Torres should all be available, plus interim coach Brian Schmetzer reacts to the controversial non-goal in Houston.

Sounders attacking midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro is expected to play against the Timbers on Sunday in Portland, despite initial concerns that he might have to report early to Uruguayan national team camp ahead of its upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

“As far as I know, he’s playing unless somebody can tell me different,” interim Sounders coach Brian Schmetzer said.

Lodeiro was at Starfire Sports on Friday morning, according to Schmetzer, though the midfielder was inside doing a re-generation session with the bulk of the survivors of Wednesday’s 1-1 draw in swampy Houston.
