Mexico will visit Seattle for pre-Gold Cup friendly

CenturyLink Field is playing host to international soccer again. The Mexican National Team will come to Seattle July 1 to play a pre-Gold Cup friendly against a team to be announced. We may not know who the defending Gold Cup champs will play as they tune up to defend their title, but we know where and when.

Kickoff will be at 5:00 p.m. on the Saturday, roughly a week before the tournament starts. Mexico’s first tournament match is July 9 in San Diego against El Salvador. They play Ghana in Houston three days prior to the friendly, which closes a June in which they’ll also play the FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia.
