The Seattle Sounders’ match against the LA Galaxy on Sept. 25 just got a whole lot bigger.
Kevin Baxter of the Los Angeles Times reported on Thursday that MLS icon Landon Donovan is coming out of retirement to rejoin the Galaxy, less than two years after his celebrated retirement from the league following the 2014 season. The league’s roster freeze goes into effect on Sept. 15, meaning the Galaxy still have time to add Donovan to the roster for the remainder of the season.
Donovan, 36, had two goals and eight assists against the Sounders in his career.
