TORONTO — Sounders midfielder Osvaldo Alonso, who is dealing with a knee strain, and defender Brad Evans, who has a sprained ankle, “will be involved” in Saturday’s MLS Cup final against Toronto FC at BMO Field. As to the extent of their involvement, however, Seattle coach Brian Schmetzer was less forthcoming.
“That,” Schmetzer said, “I can’t tell you.”
There was a scary moment midway through the training session, when Oalex Anderson went down holding his knee, eventually getting carried off by team trainers. The 21-year-old winger was unlikely to feature on Saturday night, but the injury looked like it could pose a longer-term concern.
