We’re going back to where it all began.
Presented by WaFd Bank, the ‘Vintage Week’ edition of Sounders FC Classics, a new series in which we re-air some of the best matches in Sounders history, the club will showing the inaugural match from March 19, 2009. Earning 39% percent of the vote, Seattle’s debut in Major League Soccer just edged Kasey Keller’s final regular season match in 2011.
On May 2, we’ll be re-airing the match that started it all. As the fresh new upstarts in MLS, supported from the opening whistle with unprecedented crowds, the Sounders entered the league with plenty of expectations.
