There was a new face at Seattle Sounders training on Thursday: former Spain international Diego Capel. Sounder at Heart was able to confirm the 30-year-old’s identity, but it was less clear how seriously the Sounders are considering the possibility of signing him or if he’s even on their Discovery List.
Although the Sounders have publicly stated a desire to add attacking talent, Capel doesn’t quite fit the profile of the type of player they’re likely pursuing. Capel is a bit older and more of a midfielder than a forward, but he is pacy and has a resume that includes about 350 first-team appearances for top flight teams in Europe.
