Jordan Morris and Nicolas Lodeiro scored for the Sounders as they narrowly edged the Colorado Rapids 2-1 in the first leg of their Western Conference finals series on Tuesday night at CenturyLink Field.
These are my first impressions:
– Lodeiro again showed his big-game chops.
Lodeiro has now scored four goals in four career MLS playoff games. He is already the Sounders’ all-time leading postseason scorer, believe it or not. And his influence goes beyond black-and-white production.
Seattle sporting director Chris Henderson has told the story of the scouting trip when he was officially sold on the idea of Lodeiro as the club’s next Designated Player.
